Significance of Lekurwali Sankashti
“Lekurwali” symbolizes blessings for children and family prosperity. This sacred Sankashti is dedicated to Ganesha and is observed especially for the long life, good health, happiness, and well-being of one’s children and future generations.
Married women traditionally observe this vrat with deep devotion, praying for the protection and prosperity of their family.
The Vrat (Fast)
On the day of Lekurwali Sankashti:
Women observe a strict fast from sunrise until moonrise. The fast is concluded only after evening worship of Lord Ganesha at the sighting of the moon and offering prayers and Naivedya
The vrat is considered highly auspicious and spiritually rewarding.

Shravan

A Lekurwali Sankashti occurring during these months is believed to bring special blessings, combining the grace of Lord Ganesha with the sanctity of the festive season.
Traditional Naivedya Offerings
Special festive dishes are prepared and offered as Naivedya during the puja. Traditional preparations include:
Ukadiche Modak – Steamed sweet dumplings offered to Lord Ganesha
Godi Batati – Sweet and spicy potatoes
Shirali Watane – Ridge gourd with peas
Kale Watana Bhendi – Black dried peas cooked with okra
Pathwad – Colocasia leaves stuffed with dal mixture, rolled and fried
The food is devoid of onion and garlic.
These traditional foods form an important part of the ritual and family celebration.
